André Ferreira is a native of Jacksonville where he received both BME and Masters' degrees in Music from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville. Florida.  While at JU, Mr. Ferreira was voted Vice President of the Senior Class, tapped into the "Green Key" Honorary Leadership Society, member of Phi Mu Alpha Professional Music Fraternity and Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
After college. Mr. Ferreira spent the next 34 years directing choirs in the Duval County Public schools.  During those years, he was an active member of the Florida Music Educators Association and the Music Educator's National Conference.  For the past 25 consecutive years, he has also enjoyed adjudicating for the District and State levels of the Federation Piano Festivals of Florida.  It is through these many musical experiences that he has developed a love of composing.
